Modesto Gospel Mission:
Untapped Donor Potential

Kevin Carroll, Executive Director of Modesto Gospel Mission knew that they had a lot of untapped donor potential. However, because of the uncertainty of how to speak the donor’s language and inspire them to action through financial support, they knew they needed Advocace.

Relationship Beginnings

Kevin and Anastasia Carroll heard about Advocace through a phone call from Advocace consultant, Jeff Crabtree. He originally called to talk about the Advocace Rescue Mission Development Outlook Study. However, over the next several months, a relationship began between the Carroll's and the Advocace team. With the desire to help more people in their community and not enough funds to do so, Modesto Gospel Mission accepted Advocace’s proposal to help.

Mission and Vision

Modesto Gospel Mission began in 1948. Kevin Carroll says, “The Mission’s staff is committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and meeting the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of every man, woman, boy and girl who comes to the Mission for help and hope.” Advocace works alongside Kevin and Anastasia to grow Major Gifts, Donor Communication, Capital Campaigns, and Leadership Coaching.

Impact Made

Kevin says Modesto Gospel Mission has seen “purposeful contact with donors, more donor interaction” since work started with Advocace. They feel “great, confident and excited about the future” with Advocace helping them increase income at the Mission. Modesto Gospel Mission provides more “nutritious meals, warm beds, and a place of safety for thousands [more] poor and homeless men, women, boys and girls” with the help of Advocace.
