As Advocace’s newest Senior Consultant, Dr. Virts brings decades of proven performance in Christian media and higher education to the table.
Virts will provide research and strategy insight to Advocace’s clients and team through his ability to see opportunity for growing audiences and revenue.
Paul Martin, Advocace President said, “Dr. Virts will help grow client’s ministry impact. His track record at University of Northwestern-St. Paul, Leading the Way, KMA and CBN shows how he carefully researches donors and listeners, then forms a strategy to grow ministry impact and funding. Best of all, Dr. Virts is a practical leader—he intuitively sees the opportunity for ministries to grow and vigorously pursues the opportunity. We look forward to helping our clients grow with Dr. Virts’ insight and leadership.”
One example of Dr. Virts’ leadership in these areas includes his expansion of the media group owned by University of Northwestern at St. Paul. While under his care, this network grew in audience, revenue and breadth. Dr. Virts envisioned success in reaching communities through radio and led the growth of Northwestern’s music stations (KTIS-FM/Minneapolis-St. Paul and others) as well Northwestern’s teaching and talk stations (Faith Radio).
Dr. Virts' career experience includes Executive Vice President/COO of Leading the Way Ministries with Dr. Michael Youssef; Director of Media for KMC Media and Senior Consultant for KMA & Associates; Development Vice President for The Kings College; Director of Client Services/Manager of Corporate Research at Victor King Agency (Christian Broadcasting Network); Assistant/Associate Professor of Broadcasting, Regent University; and Translation Coordinator at Daystar Communications, Nairobi, Kenya.
Virts has served on the boards of the National Religious Broadcasters, Daystar University-US, Africa Equip Ministries International and Prairie Bible College, Three Hills, Alberta, Canada.
Dr. Virts has a Ph.D. in speech communication from the University of Iowa, a master's degree in communication from Wheaton College, Ill., an undergraduate degree in journalism/education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a diploma in Bible and Missions from Prairie Bible College.
“I have known and worked with Paul Martin for nearly 30 years and have been impressed with the team he has developed at Advocace,” Virts comments. “The agency has developed a reputation of excellent client service and biblically based fundraising. I look forward to assisting the team in developing resources for ministry through improved strategy and research.”
